As
physiotherapists we are specialists trained in the treatment
and rehabilitation of neuromusculoskeletal problems such
as low back pain and the rehabilitation of patients following
surgery. Where physiotherapy differs from other professions
is on our emphasis on the correction of movement dysfunction
which can be the cause of problems such as low back pain,
sports injuries or work related musculoskeletal problems.
Physiotherapy is not just about the treatment of symptoms,
physiotherapists at The Practice are committed to interventions
that importantly identify the cause of your symptoms.
Once the cause is identified we can then prescribe an
appropriate treatment/rehabilitation programme, which
may include a combination of hands on treatment such as
mobilisation/manipulation, soft tissue mobilisation, rehabilitation
in our in house Pilates studio (Clinical Pilates) and
importantly a home exercise programme.
Physiotherapists
at The Practice all have post graduate qualifications
in Clinical Pilates and sports physiotherapy and have
or are working towards Masters Degrees and membership
of the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists
(MACP).
At
The Practice we see clients referred from local GP’s,
specialist consultants in the fields of orthopaedics,
rheumatology, neurology and pain management but by far
the majority of our referrals are by word of mouth based
on our reputation as leaders in the fields of Physiotherapy
and Clinical Pilates.
